Road Closure Information

October brought lots of rain to the Mountains causing two rock slides to major highways. I-40 is closed at milemarker 3 in North Carolina, and Highway 64 is closed near the Ocoee Gorge. It will be months before the roads are cleared. (Could we put some folks to work clearing the roads?!)

Anyway...If you're coming from the South or East of Cherokee the roads are open and the routes stay the same. If you're coming from the North or West give us a call and we'll help you get here by an alternate route. Don't trust your GPS to get you around the rock slides--some folks have had to back track up to 50 miles because of their GPS directions. 1-877-497-6161

UPDATE:  ROADS ALL REOPENED ON 4/25/10

First Snow of the Season!

For several days the weather reporters talked about snow....causing shortages of Milk & Bread in the grocery stores! Today I woke up to a rain and snow mix, finally turning to snow mid-morning. It will warm up and melt tomorrow, but we'll enjoy the beauty of it today!

We have a few folks camping in their RVs this weekend. Call us and plan a Winter Camping Trip. Our rates are reduced in the winter and there are lots of things to do in Cherokee & the surrounding area. Toll-Free 1-877-497-6161
